Christine Tillman :: wooden bows

Hello Monday! Last night Ashley G. twittered this link and I almost fell off my chair! So pretty is this birch bow, natural wood and curves all at the same time. Truly the wrapping is better than when it IS the present! Find it here at Christine Tillman's etsy shop. She is quite an artist too - her site is wonderful and diverse. Go have a gander right here.

Anke Weckmann

serendipity #2
I have been a big fan of Linotte aka Anke Weckmann the illustrator from London for a long while. I love her blog and today I noticed at her flickr that she had made some adorable gocco felt pins for spring. The little dog pin is pictured above and is in her etsy shop. We have five works of hers in our Incredible Print Show. Above is one of them which you can purchase right here at our shop!

Nanda Handcrafted :: cozy beauty

Aggettivo - Cowl/Capelet photo: Nanda Handcrafted

I was so pleased to join the New Hampshire Etsy Street Team because I was able to meet even more talented local artists and artisans - but somehow I missed Nanda Handcrafted - that is until today. Just look at these yummy warm lovelies created in the most sumptuous colors and textures. Yes folks, it's getting mighty cool in the evenings around here (tonight 38F and dropping) so it's only a matter of time for these pieces to become vital wearables in these parts!
The Aggettivo Capelet is my favorite! Stop by her shop and tell her we sent you. So much pretty to choose from - like this Sugar on Snow neckwarmer below...

So much talent, right here in our little state! Oh, and while you are getting cozy by the fire, dreaming of hot mulled wine and roasted chestnuts, take a little trip over to Salon and get fired up about the latest greatest national disaster, told by Garrison Keillor - straight up and without any sugar coating.

Mimi Kirchner's #50 doll

After seeing Mimi this weekend, it reminded me that she has a quest going on over at her beautiful blog "Doll". She has hit her personal mark of making 50 handmade dolls this year (and still going strong)...#50 is a beautiful lady - don't you think? I am partial to the tattoo men, her babies and some of her other work, but this flower lady is so beautiful I had to share with you.
Go see more beauty at Mimi's etsy shop as well.

Golly Bard :: at Etsy

Found a cute little shop at Etsy with a perfect little image of what speaks to me in autumn. Available here at GollyBard's Etsy shop.

Lauren Haupt - Local Library

photography by Lauren Haupt from Local Library
Lauren Haupt stopped by here with a sweet comment yesterday and as usual I went a peeking at her blog which to my delight was not only witty but had a sidebar etsy display. As you most likely know about me dear readers I don't post much about jewelry, but I have to say Lauren's little shop - Local Library really caught my eye. I love these two pieces for their unique one of a kind look. Check out her blog too. It's bananahead pancakes. Just the name alone...

I love Plum - Etsy shop

One of my student's mother has opened up an etsy shop with some of the cutest clothes for the little ones. Yes, two posts in four days about kids clothes ... once a children's clothing junkie, always a children's clothing junkie! Even though I don't miss designing children's clothing - I still love finding unique pieces to give friends as gifts.
The I Love Plum shop has this dragon appliqué which I just love! Her workmanship is wonderful and this little dragon would be so spiffy on a little boy or girl. So perfect, Pam - great work!

Beach pong

beach pong, originally uploaded by artstreamstudios.

Good morning friends ... what a lovely weekend here! Hope yours was too. Starting off the week with an assignment from Miss Stacey's Summer School. The assignment was "a place I love to be". Well, that is the ocean for sure and there were so many gangly boys playing pong on the seaside that I decided to paint one of them.
Part of a summer series of tiny artworks/sketches even, over at my etsy shop for $15.
Off to paint the gallery now. Big week ahead here! What do you have in store this lovely summer day?

Sun Stroke

A beautiful email today dropped into my box from the emerging artist Rebecca Volynsky. Here is her mixed media piece called "Sun Stroke". Click through it to see more images of her work. She also has a nice little blog called silhouettes and an etsy shop by the same name. Rebecca hails from Providence RI and she is going to attend Boston University in the fall - (yes, she just graduated from High School!) I would say that this is one woman to watch.
Thanks Rebecca!

Pincushions!

Over at Etsy this morning I found the most spring-like pincushion - from the seller Ottoman.
I think this could perk up a sewing table fast! Wouldn't some little flower headed pins add to the woodland feel? Can you tell I am still doing the snow melt dance here?
I just love felted work and these are simply perfect!

Credenza love!

Well, our trip to a NH craigslist ad proved fruitful! We are happy owners of a fun new piece of furniture for a mere $175. I am not too much into "things" but this "thing" is useful and lovely.
Here it is in our halfway renovated kitchen - note the lovely subfloor which it sits upon. Also one little fun ceramic piece I bought from an Australian etsy shop for myself- a little cat bank, made in Germany. This is our vacation week, so I will be posting lightly here between fun little mini vacation activities and more *snow* shoveling. Yes folks, 90 inches is not enough, we are bracing for another bit of winter madness as I type.
Don't forget to visit the Lovely Hearts section of our shop - the profits all go to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Mug warmers

I know spring is somewhere... but until then I still look for everything warm and wonderful. Like this cozy mug warmer. What a great idea! Found at etsy this morning. The button makes it removable for easy washing and well, adds a bit of dash to the whole design. My hands would love to wrap around something like this during our chilly months! And to think - the maker is from Arizona... go here for more details.

Bloesem's Pink collection

These new Pink Collection necklaces from Blosem are really unique. I think that the above "#3 necklace" could be the perfect winter piece of jewelry - juxtaposed a top of a soft cashmere sweater. The colors combinations Irene has used in this collection are breathtaking. See them all at her etsy shop. "Bloesem's Pink Collection are twenty necklaces... with beads and stones....every necklace has a 'Roze Quartz' stone...it is a limited edition...so every necklace is a unique piece"

Foxy and Winston

Jane over at foxy and winston dropped me a line today about some new adorable designs for baby and child. Having designed and manufactured, (for almost ten years), a line of children's clothing, I fully appreciate a quality, fun/artistic piece of clothing when I see it. These are IT. Hedgehogs of course are my personal favorite being extra partial to their slug eating qualities... however Jane has some equally sweet squirrels and lovely owls and elephants to satisfy anyone. Take a look, cotton, (some organic!) and printed in their flawless, signature style. Thanks Jane!

Some little VERY affordable art in my little etsy shop.
All but this one (which is a bit bigger) are $15. Check em out here.

A huge thanks to Grace at design*sponge for the shout out about our participation in Fragiles down at Design Miami in December. Of course we thank Julian from Die Gestalten Verlag, for creating this marvelous exhibition! Read all about it over at design sponge. More on Megan soon!

Poppytalk Handmade

Thanks to Jan for featuring me at her poppytalk blog today with my new little monotype "blocks" . I have had so much fun working on the sanded pine blocks with the gelatin. These are available through her virtual marketplace and my etsy shop. Thanks Jan!

Gocco: lobster cards and envelopes

Yes, I have been going crazy with my little Gocco. Every moment printng and playing. I took my lobster drawing from last winter and decided to do a two color card for our shop at artstream. I first did some prints on heavyweight vellum for later use else where, but decided that we needed lobster cards. I have two different kinds of cards. One on Strathmore paper going into our shop on Monday, October 1st and one on smooth white cards going into my etsy shop then too.
The cards are two screens and the envelopes have the wave screen on them. A little wave to surf your stamp on!
We at Chez Schwake are off to our very first family weekend at college with daughter Grace. Excited? You bet!
Have a wonderful weekend!
