Foundling :: beautiful jewelry

Busy busy today getting some deadlines met - but not too busy to show you our newest find in the jewelry case: Foundling! Betsy from foundling contacted us about her lovely line right before christmas and we were so pleased to be introduced to her work. Each piece is an original, something near and dear to us - and each piece has a hidden story just waiting to be shared. Here is a link to her place in our shop and to her blog. This Ikebana necklace would be so perfect for that special person on V-Day!

I love Blocks

Reader Irini from i love blocks sent me a mail about her line of jewelry. It appeals to me on lots of levels. First of all, I am not a dripping in diamonds sort of gal. I go for the fun and quirky in jewelry. Abigail Percy's line would be a first choice for something beautiful, elegant and real - hint hint to my special someone... and I love my Polli earring from Rare Device's shop.
But for day to day and for enjoying myself with a few within reach items, I Love Blocks fits the bill perfectly to me. Her little square necklaces are fun and affordable with a dozen different modern looks to choose from. My personal favorites are the birds on the wire (what a surprise...) and the dandelion. Go take a peek!

In Mono Designs

Feli from Perth, Australia makes some very pretty wearable jewelry. I say wearable as I am not a jewelry maven... Things on my fingers or wrists just get in the way of art making. However! I love a good big earring and most days wear either these from Feli or these from the amazing Rena Tom's Rare Device...interesting...they are both from Australia!
Feli sells these new smooth wooden pieces at her etsy shop. I have been lately admiring these necklaces made from recycled timbers and named with Aboriginal names. This one is called Loorea - "the moon" and I think it is lovely.

The word for the day is ... streaming ... like the rainwater in the street, the paint from my brush and this great video which pokes a little serious fun at Web 2.0. ... (that just happens to be part of my next topic at Biz Box on Slate)

Emma Cassi - Sale!

Emma Cassi is having a sale! I just love the romance that Emma Cassi evokes through her jewelry. It's not for MY everyday, but perhaps for yours? Either way, I love it and think that it celebrates the past with a modern twist. Last year I found Emma Cassi jewelry via Ullabenulla - who is having a contest to celebrate her 750th post! Hop over to both links and check out the lovliness. Today is melting winter away finally and I am seeing my primroses peek out. Can you believe we can finally turn our creative thoughts to gardening again?

Laura Baxter

Something beautiful via Ullabenulla - yet again! Laura Baxter's contemporary Jewellery. (Two LL's because she is British.) Go have a look... these seed pods are delightful! She uses nature as a wonderful springboard to her designs.

The word for the day is ... uncover ... a secret, a present, a mystery!
