Illustration Friday "Spotted"

This is a mixed media work entitled "Deep"
11 inches by 14 inches
It is the first piece in a four piece series about fishing with my mother.
You can see the others in the series over here.
It is a bit spotted and a bit dotted and a bit deep water
and a bit ... late in the game!

The word for the day is ... quintessence ... as in something in it's purest form, the substance composing the celestial bodies and the most typical rendering.

This is lovely, and all the more meaningful that there is a story/ experience attached! Very nice work!

Hey! Not only are we close in blog entries but we are posting to IF at the same time. Creepy! :)

Actually, I think you are better at posting every day whereas I have been known to take a month's break from my blog. But I strive to be better at that...

Wonderful design and the colors are so much in harmony with each other. Took a peek at the others and your work is inspiring.

the colors, the water bubbles the fish swimming in and between, full of depth, is your art in your gallery too? I hope it is!

I loved the use of color (but then, I'm biased as green and blue are my two favorites). The other paintings were lovely also, especially "Downstream". I am continually impressed with how you translate your life into art. Thanks for sharing this image.

This is such a great merging or abstraction and realism--like falling into a dream.

wow you're so popular in the comments section!

I think that when you show other people's work in your blog, you should make that more clear. its definately hard to tell that the painting with the fish and the blue blobs is not yours.

love a tu ma mere cherie!
