Garden weekend...

these iris were from original plants i had given my old neighbor and friend and now are coming back to me. i love them...
tick seed is so pretty even before it blooms!
radishes poking through the soil
This weekend was full of fun and parties on Saturday and a whole lot of gardening in between.
our first bloomer peony starting up!
Our extended dose of great weather has done wonders for everyone's spirits here and we have sunk into our spring mode fully!
morning shadows from hanging pots
Massive spring cleaning and a rigid schedule for this weeks home chores between lots of creating in the studio will *hopefully* render a tag sale on Saturday. Am hoping for big progress before Grace flies home on Monday. Of best laid plans ... we'll see what diversions get in my way this week.

Mysterious footprints

Taken today out back in the garden. My poor abandon planter, and some tracks in the snow. I think I know who made them, but I can't be sure. I do love the shadows though. We get such wonderful shadows in the winter.
The planter is coming in this weekend and will be planted up with succulents and herbs too, I think. I envision sort of a tiny jungle emerging to fill my lust for green this winter. Yes, it's getting to me already and it's only January.

rainbow tomatoes

A quick pop in to say happy Monday. Here is a spectacular shot from daughter Grace before she hopped off to college on Sunday. Of course we had to go replace her hard drive on her mac book on the way ... thank goodness for local Apple stores. It gave up the go the night before we were to leave, but they popped another one in and she was 100% by the day's end. Phew.

I will be posting as much as I can over the next two weeks, with some great new works coming into the gallery, new links and lots of fun photos from our trip too.
Just a lot on our plates right now! Squam Arts Workshop is coming up on the 10th and I have a few details to wrap up with our next exhibition too! Did you miss what we have been showing all summer? I hope not! Take a peek over here at the shop to see what we have left of "Pigmentary Portraits"... it's beautiful!
My mother has been ill as well, so perhaps there will be less posts than normal until mid month. Who knows!?
Be good everyone and keep your sunny side up!

peony love

our earliest peony blossom
A slight break from the art scene to share my other passion with you... peonies. I just love everything about this flower. This morning before it gets really crazy hot, I captured the blossom overload in the back garden. Their scent is intoxicating, their color is shameless and well, with this heat we have been experiencing, they are popping open by the bouquet-full.Off to greet 15 kindergarten students from a neighborhood elementary school. They are taking a walk over to see the gallery and play with me in some clay fun!

Delphinium Time

Time for a little blog break... my flowers told me to (must weed, must weed!)... Finishing up some big projects which lead into my summer classes. With a clean studio space and loads of fresh sunshine, I must make art whilst the sun shines!
I'll be back next week to update you on the new show, and exciting new works coming our way. Oh yes, and a big surprise swap I will be hosting.
See you soon!
