Pinecones and running feet

Just a little fall inspiration from here in New England. Yesterday's cross country meet with daughter Chloe brought me to this unexplainable pile of pine cones. Was it a busy squirrel or child who made this Andy Goldsworthy - esq eco-art piece? Either way, it was a lovely afternoon in the woods. What signs of the season changing are in your neck of the woods?

oh so mysterious.. rather Blair Witch-ish. We are watching some clouds come in over here, and are hoping that we will get our first rainstorm since March!

I can just imagine how gorgeous it must be up in your neck of the woods these days, Susan. The leaves are just starting to change colour down here in NJ although it's been cooler and rainy so I suspect the golds and reds will arrive soon, too.
