In theory, this painting would have been easier to achieve in a smaller scale. It measures 3 x 4 feet and I did this back in 2005 in oil and oil bar.
It was fun to paint.
Guess what I saw that inspired me- in Vienna prior to painting this?
Guess in the comments below and the winning answers will be put into a hat at the end of this week (February 22nd) and I will draw a winner. The winner gets one of my new larger scale bird paintings, painted just for them.
Have fun!

Hundertwasser Haus?
Friendensreich Hundertwasser's work.
I was going to guess Klimt ... but it seems I might be wrong. :)
Woah, girl. I LOVE this painting. LOVE it. Amazing. hello ... bueller??
It's like biting into a luscious ripe piece of an orange on a cold dreary day. Like fireworks in your brain ... a Coney Island of the mind ... (ok I'll stop now).
This isn't going to even be close, but Chuck Close?
My guess is Klimt as well.
this is really beautiful and vibrant by the way!
the Albertina ... hmmm ...
Wow! I wish I knew more about Vienna and art, but I don't. I do know I'm jealous of the winner who will get one of your lovely birds! :)
Gustav Klimt is my guess!
