Recycled Cabinet Doors

Friend Mary Ellen had four of these cabinet doors in her basement. I was helping her move some things downstairs when I spied them. My face must have given me away because she immediately said "Do you want those?"... I think I had a dream about weathered wood with blue paint recently and these were it. Of course I do! Off they went to the studio. Two squares and two long rectangles. This is the beginning a work in progress. Portraits dictated by the shapes in the decay. Did you ever see faces inside the wood on your doors? hmmmmm. I did.
Stop back later, our (r + me + Leigh Pennebaker) first PODCAST is being loaded up!

Very cool find! And I like what you are doing with them.
"Did you ever see faces inside the wood on your doors?" You know, I was thinking about that last night just before bed. I sometimes see images on almost any patterned or crumped surface. My brain puts together the shaded areas and the lighter parts and yeah...I guess it's like seeing shapes of things in clouds. Playtime for the mind? :)

Treasures! I always see faces in things, and I often can't resist the urge to draw them in. This looks like it's going to be a wonderful project - fun to do and beautiful when finished. I can't wait to see the results!
