Party Game

First Party Game! Here is my latest 12" by 12" oil painting - one that I did yesterday (love those painting a day challenges) to celebrate the blog's birthday. It's good to work out your ideas fast sometimes.
If you have been reading this blog for awhile, you can see I have a lot of hair brain art ideas which vary (as Andrea noted last week) from monotypes to collage to painting to ceramics and mixed media. That's ok with me as I would never want to be noted as working "outside" my medium! However, I digress - so the party game here is called: "Name the Painting"
Try to figure out where this abstract idea just might have come from. The person who names the painting most closely related to my original idea for creating this painting, (good luck - you'll need it!), will be announced the winner.
The winner will be announced on Monday morning and gifted one of my soon to be released stoneware clay Christmas Ornaments which I have been making for this wonderful Ornament swap! Photos of my new ornament will be shown soon as soon as they cool off -- they are hot in the kiln right now. Leave your guesses in the comments section please. Have fun!

oh, i'm glad you'll be joining in art everyday month! and you're a fellow new englander too! sweet!

as for the painting, hrmm, i could imagine it being all sorts of things. at first glance it made me think of looking through a rainy window, or through snowflakes. or it could be confetti falling around a b-day party or condensation on the windshield or the view through an aquarium or rainbow rain puddle or snorkeling the coral reef or a gumball machine. teehee, i could go on. :-)

just gorgeous! i'm in a dabbler in many things (except for oil until now) as well, so i'm with you. a close-up pointillism, looking through a window and it rains outside? and there's some light reflections. i'm already tired of posting every day. not really my cup of tea. but don't want to give up just yet... thought it was a piece of cake since art is there everyday in many ways ... wow, and one year blogging! happy birthday.

even though it reminds me of rain and street lights at night, I am going to guess your inspiration was either the paint box (watercolor tray) you have photographed a few times, or a school bus?

City lights seen through a rain-splashed window.

That's my take.

Effervescent, genealogy, closeness, crowd of people, crowd of flowers...

hmmm.. It's a very evocative piece. My brain is stretched.

Oh what clever creative responses!! The first thing that came to my mind was the car lights one sees on a rainy night, raindrops, and carlights transforms into confetti!

There are a few like my guess: oncoming car lights at night through a rainy windshield. Lovely, enigmatic work!
