the tree of my life
mixed media/transfer on birch plywood 17" by 12"
Clearly, this is my family tree. My maternal grandmother is at the tippytop. My namesake is at 3 o'clock holding my mother as a baby. I had just finished this piece for a family gift this Christmas and well, it clearly is full of our personal history. It fit the IF prompt -- clear, for me!

Susan, This is one of the prettiest 'family trees' I have ever seen. What a gift!!!
Awesome collage, Susan! I so admire people who can pull off a fresh-looking collage like this and imbue it with all kinds of meaning.
It made a perfect family Christmas gift, Susan. I'm sure there'll be tears of joy in your family Christmas gathering, when they all see it. :)
what a great family tree!! i like the line work especially.
What a creative family tree: I love the colors, the images and everything about it.....what a great gift!!! How lucky the recipient is to get such a personal and heartfelt gift! Pat
This is so beautiful! What a great family tree indeed. Love the pictures.
nice! I'd love to do a project like that one day!
What a lovely idea for a family tree!
I think we are related...metal man
A beautiful rendition of a great idea! I love the colours.
This is a beautiful family tree! It looks more like a vine growing upwards and windong around each person. I like the texture of the background - scratchy and colorfully distressed like oxidized copper. The fine lines of the tree add a lyrical touch. Very nice!
beautiful...a very nice tribute!
Great idea and what terrific gift! I'm working on a family recipe book for everyone in my family this Christmas. You got me a'thinkin' that adding an artistic family tree to the recipe books would be an extra special treat.
Nice collage!
