Tranquility

Here is a photo which I took of a koi pond in Muenster, Germany last summer. Isn't it peaceful yet flowing with life?
I think that these fish are one of the most tranquil beings on earth. What brings you to tranquility?

Gorgeous! We saw some like this in Cancun last year. Fascinating how big they get. My most tranquil moments would be the weekend mornings when I get up before anyone else, walk my dog in peace & drink my coffee w/o having to rush around or be somewhere on time. LOVE those moments. Have a fab weekend girl!

Several minutes of watching a fish swim is like having eight hours of sleep.
Prayer brings me peace, and dancing wildly alone.

Love the photo - aquariums and watching any beautiful fish in water is soothing. But the thing that works for me is sitting by the ocean for awhile. It never fails to make me feel calm and peaceful, no matter what else is going on. I think it's because the ocean is so vast, it makes little problems pale in significance.

Reminds me of a koi pond at this big hotel in LA. There were 2 bridges on this big pond, and they must have fed them from the bridges, because when you would walk to one of them, about 40 huge koi would swim in formation to each bridge. It was funny.

Thunderstorms bring me tranquility.

Hope you had a great time in Montreal, though I doubt it was as tranquil as this koi pond.

Susan, I would love to paint this, can I use your photo to refer to please?

Tanquility is the perfect word for this photograph, Susan. Love the colours! Daytripping through the countryside with the car windows down brings me to tranquility. Or walking along the NJ shore. THAT is heaven.

Kaffe comes to Portsmouth about once a year usually in the autumn -- typically there is an evening lecture/slide show of his work and then an all-day class.

Your photo is glorious. It reminded me of the little koi pond I had back in my old home at Chester Springs, Pa. I built that pond with my bare hands, and my sons placed the footbridge at the very end of my toils. I used to stay out there for hours, reading, drinking wine, writing. That little koi pond inspired me to be creative. I loved those fish and cried bitter tears when I moved away from that beloved place. I even painted it with watercolors, but I couldn't do justice to its beauty and serenity.

Thanks for the memories. Glad I found your blog. I'm an artist, too, newly relocated to Florida where it's very difficult to have a koi pond, and very diffucult to be creative...
