8x8 inch mixed media "stealth"
A green bug-chandy. Guess it came from a dream I had, something about an insect who posed as a chandelier to attract its prey. Whatever it was, I had to make this piece this morning. Who knows what Illustration Friday will bring out in others? Go find out!
Always a surprise, Susan! This one made me smile. As for me, I was pre-inspired yesterday. Who knew?

ReplyDeletethis is really cool, susan! what a great dream image! kinda scary, but very cool.
ReplyDeleteI see that you've labeled this "silliness," but I see it as whimsical, lyrical and delightful. I love the shapes of the chandelier arms and the delicate candles and crystals. The background color is so fresh and wonderflly textured along the edges. I like!
ReplyDeleteI love the colors and the dripping crystal-like forms. What an interesting dream.
ReplyDeleteI love the new banner ... and you've inspired me to try using maps in some "for fun and play" art.
What a wonderful image. I really am drawn to it. Maybe it's because I really like chandeliers. The funny this is that it looks like an actual chandelier that was hanging up in the Diesel store... and then oddly enough appeared again in the Anthropologie store.
ReplyDeleteoh what a lovely piece! great work, Susan!
ReplyDeletei really like this one! the texture and free spirit of it. ;-)

ReplyDeleteI like this! I just bought a copy of "Juxtapose" and was blown away by photographs of chandeliers with arms that look like octopus legs, starfish, etc. Cool stuff!
