More of my paper encaustic series. Fall is a great time of year to be melting beeswax (ok, I like it anytime of year!) and so I was inspired by the colors outside of my window. What do you think? I am going to put them on some sort of floating backing. Just trying to decide what exactly ... This one is rather large - roughly, 12"x12".
although i'm not (yet) on the encaustic cheer bandwagon, this piece makes me want to try it! it's simply gorgeous and the colors are so yummy. we've only got a bit of yellow peaking through the greens here in in area in lux-germany. simply gorgeous

ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful piece. Might be nice mounted on a solid color canvas -- I'm thinking black -- with the edges left loose (and maybe painted metallic gold on the back. This is inspiring, as well as beautiful.

it is done like this sabine:
i made the homemade paper and then used the beeswax/resin mixture to create the design
then used watercolor paint to add the color.
it is fun and reminds me of the metal work i saw in wein and around germany.
This is decorative and original and ... sumptuous! That's a good word for it. I can hardly wait to see how you display it.
